If you’re not freaking out right now, you should be! Sugar abuse is just as damaging and hard to stop as drug abuse, but it’s not hopeless. Any reduction you can make in your sugar consumption makes a positive difference.
Start by eliminating sodas and fruit drinks entirely and learning about various sugar alternatives in home cooking. Ditching candy bars and switching to lower sugar dark chocolate when you really need a “hit” is also a positive change.
It’s okay to go at this gradually, but one way or another, you must get a handle on excess sugar consumption.
